We have had some brilliant news! Due to the urgency of the situation in Fantalle woreda PROtector Treatment Systems has selected Labata Fantalle as their next priority project. They will assist us to install a hand operated PROtector water treatment system for members of the local community.

The PROtector system is low cost, compared to other water treatment solutions, and is green tech. It removes fertilisers, pesticides, heavy metals, bacteria and parasites from water to make it safe and palatable for the community's drinking needs. The system will be provided by Labata Fantalle but will be owned and run by the local community.

A PROtector system would bring a fundamental change to members of the Karrayyu community, many of whom who are living in areas where there is no access to clean water. Safe clean water is a serious issue. Every day members of the community are exposed to the risk of death and disease from drinking contaminated water. Unclean water sources is one of the main causes of illness in the area.

We are currently working hard to raise money towards the costs of the installation. PROtector Treatment Systems is running a fund raising campaign but Labata Fantalle also needs to provide a proportion of the costs. We really need your support to make this happen!
