LaFO makes assets transfer to resource poor Karrayyu Pastoralist Women in Ethiopia
March 2026 - Fantalle, Ethiopia With financial support from the CS Fund, Labata Fantalle Organization (LaFO) is implementing a livelihood recovery project targeting 50 crisis-affected and vulnerable female-headed households (FHHs) in Ilala and Xuxuxi kebeles of Fantalle Woreda (District), Ethiopia. The project has recently provided 150 locally adaptable breeding goats (at a ratio of three goats per household) to strengthen beneficiaries’ food security, nutrition, and income-generating capacity. Prior to this asset transfer, beneficiaries received training on basic animal husbandry and animal healthcare to ensure the productivity and health of the livestock provided. Through this in-kind support, alongside other project interventions, LaFO aims to empower the target women, strengthen household resilience, and contribute to the community’s overall recovery from the recurrent shocks experienced in recent years.
